REC Services

Weekly Zoom Meetings

Throughout each academic school year, REC Zoom meetings occur on most Mondays and Tuesdays from 10AM to 11AM. A variety of topics are discussed and guest speakers are often scheduled. Many of these weekly Zoom meetings are recorded and saved in a Members Only dashboard.

In-person Annual Meetings

Members have the opportunity to meet in person twice a year at annual conferences:

  • Each March: WASA’s Spring Conference for Small School Leaders. There is an annual member dinner/meeting during this conference for members and guests.
  • Each June: WASA/AWSP Summer Conference. Members are invited to an early morning breakfast meeting.

Resources

Membership in the Rural Ed. Center includes leaders of small and rural districts receiving support when facing significant challenges. In addition to the networking opprounites mentioned above, members are provided a variety of resources including legislative updates, details regarding specific state mandates, overviews of pending and passed legislation, etc.

Advocacy – Together, We are Stronger!

The small and rural school districts in our state offer amazing educational opprounites for students and serve as the hub of the communities they serve. Leaders of these school systems wear many hats and endure declining resources while facing additional state and federal mandates. Membership in the Rural Education Center offers numerous opportunities for a “collective voice”.
